La Posada – Onsen Pension & Authentic Mexican Restaurant in West Izu
Authentic Mexican Food. Japanese Natural Onsen.

Welcome to La Posada
A Little Mexico in the Heart of Izu
La Posada is a Spanish word meaning “The Lodge” or “The Inn”—a place where travelers are welcomed as friends.
Founded in 1995 in the seaside town of Toi, La Posada is more than a place to stay. It is the realization of a dream inspired by over two decades spent living in Mexico.
Our founder, Professor Tomoyoshi Yamaguchi, dedicated 23 years to developing Judo in Mexico, eventually serving as National Coach of the Mexican Olympic Judo Team. During those years, he and his family discovered something that would shape the rest of their lives—the extraordinary warmth, generosity, and hospitality of the Mexican people.
When the family returned to Japan, they wanted to share that spirit with visitors to Izu.
Today, La Posada combines the tranquility of rural Japan with the warmth of Mexican hospitality. Authentic homemade Mexican cuisine, natural hot spring baths, and genuine family hospitality have welcomed guests from Japan and around the world for more than thirty years.
Many of our guests return year after year—not only for the food or the hot springs, but because La Posada feels like coming home.
Whether this is your first visit or your tenth, we look forward to welcoming you as part of our family.
Bienvenidos. Welcome. ようこそ。
